Charter Statement

The Vision of Pertubuhan Smart Industri Malaysia is to champion and realize the full potential of Smart Industry as part of Malaysia’s digital economy, empowering towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution. To realize this Vision, the association will engage with various stakeholders, e.g. related government agencies, manufacturers, industry players, academia and professionals, and develop the necessary knowledge and human resources in the area of Internet-of-Things (IoT), information & networking technology, data analytics, digital intelligence and security, to transform and create a new, thriving smart industry eco-system.

To this end, the activities undertaken by the association shall give focus to the following areas:

  • Skills development (Training)

Assess and evaluate appropriate training needs in the field of smart industry in Malaysia. Identify the capacity building gap in the field. Adopt or develop training programs to fulfil the capacity building needs in the nation. Set the appropriate training objectives and goals for the Pertubuhan Industry Malaysia to fulfil the gap. Create the training action plan to meet the gap. Effectively implement the required trainings for the industry. Measure the effectiveness of the provided training programs. Evaluate and revised training programmes to meet ever changing of smart industry technology.

  • Standards development

Development of relevant technical standards for Smart Industry which define and specify the policies, requirements, procedures, methodologies, infrastructure, competencies and standardization, leading to a harmonized platform for the industry to operate efficiently. The association will work with related government agencies, e.g. Department of Standards Malaysia (JSM) and Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB), to propose, develop, review and publish new standards related to smart industry for Malaysia.
